Kearney West - Kearneys Spring

The Kearney West estate will ultimately comprise of 350 lots and extend from Kearney Street to West Street, and to Nelson Street on the north.  The 10 stages, in this popular residential area of Toowoomba, will be developed and sold over a number of years.  To understand the full scale of Kearney West, please find attached a Layout Master Plan for the southern half of the estate. 

STAGES 1, 2 and 3 - ALL LOTS ARE SOLD

STAGE 4
Kearney West Stage 4 is currently under construction with MPM Civil and we envisage Stage 4 lots will be selling in May 2024. This stage consists of 48 lots ranging in size from 480m² to 724m².  All lots in Stage 4 will have reticulated sewerage, underground power, and be NBN ready.  The blocks will be levelled from from boundary to boundary, so cut/fill earthworks are not required.  In Stage 4, Cadel Evans Drive and McGrory Drive will be extended and a new street named Willoughby Crescent will be constructed.  A second landscaped detention basin area will be built on the corner of Cadel Evans Drive and Cycle Way.  This area will add to the green spaces already created throughout the estate and will link to the linear park, exercise trail and the landscaped detention basins to the south.  The footpath network allows pedestrian links to Carly Hibberd Park on Velodrome Drive in our previous Kearney East estate.  This is one of Toowoomba's newest parks and offers playgrounds, slides, bike trails, bbq's, toilet facilities and an off-leash dog area.  Since completion, Carly Hibberd Park is proving very popular with children living in the estate and is a great place for families to gather.  The network of concrete pathways throughout both of the Kearney Street developments also provides access to the Nelson Street bus stop.

STAGE 5
The RAL application for Stage 5 Lot Layout has been approved by Toowoomba Regional Council.  Engineering plans for this stage are currently under design.  Stage 5 will see Cadel Evans Drive continue to West Street and a roundabout on Cadel Evans Drive, West Street and Handley Street will be constructed.  This will provide access to Kearney West from both West Street and Kearney Street.

All the streets within the Kearney East and Kearney West estates are named after Australian cyclists.  These cyclists have represented our country in various disciplines of the sport at either Commonwealth or Olympic Games level. This area of Toowoomba is very popular with cyclists, and groups or pelotons of cyclists are regularly seen riding for fitness or pleasure.  Local residents often refer to Kearney East and Kearney West as the 'Cycling Estates'.
